And the idea of placing the archetype at 2nd level obviously vibes with this idea. It's not the direction I'm heading, but it's a respectable idea.

I'm really digging on the idea of Preternatural Awareness, as well as Yield Ground. Pack Tactics seems a bit convoluted, and could probably use another pass with the editor's pen. Otherwise, I think you've got a really solid class concept, here.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09415309473547925926noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2434106861389890399.post-75766616246607793472015-10-13T09:31:31.517-07:002015-10-13T09:31:31.517-07:00A few changes I am likely to make are a limit on t...A few changes I am likely to make are a limit on the uses of Yield Ground and possibly removing the movement effect of Pack Tactics so they don't overlap in functionality. I might also change the bonus damage from Peerless Hunter so the ranger isn't courting three different stats (Strength, Dexterity, and Wisdom).

But maybe that's okay? I mean, generally, the ranger probably is going to focus on either Strength OR Dexterity, rather than both, depending on their primary weapon choice.Marsupialmancerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02783580491548501604noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2434106861389890399.post-17265883505862494182015-10-13T05:45:45.349-07:002015-10-13T05:45:45.349-07:00I'm really digging this variant so far.I'm really digging this variant so far. If you have a concept that you can make work for an archer paladin (and I do), this is sort of a stupid rules blocker. That said, I know you're opening those back up in Archetypes.

I like what you've done so far - as you know since we've been talking about it, but still. I particularly like the feeling that the land and the ranger respond to each other to shape the ranger's combat functionality.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13333781524640845035noreply@blogger.com
